We are pleased to be recognized as one of 1000 truly special places in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. |

Founded as The Simple Machine in 1979 by the Racine Family, the Charlton Sewing Center is now located in a 110 year old New England church, one of the most beautiful and historic church structures in Worcester County. The main floor of this building offers customers a gift shop, seating area near the fireplace and antique sewing machines within its 2100 square feet of retail space. Each month a different sewing exhibit is on display set among the stained glass windows and the original pipe organ.
We welcome you to browse our large selection of fabrics, threads, fiber embellishing materials, sewing notions and more.
Inside this beautiful historic building, Charlton Sewing Center is pleased to offer Bernina, Elna and Necchi sewing machines. Whether you are interested in machine embroidery, garment sewing, quilting or fiber arts, we'd be glad to offer our assistance in selecting the best machine and materials for your sewing projects.
We offer both new and used sewing machines and we will assist you in finding your perfect sewing machine. We will help you understand the different machines available to suit your needs and let you "test drive" our machines so that you can find the best sewing machine or serger for your use.
After you have chosen your machine, we offer classes and one-on-one training so that you can fully enjoy all of your machine's features and be able to properly care for your sewing machine.
With 25 years of technical repair experience the Charlton Sewing Center's technician offers onsite sewing machine and serger repair. The technician is factory trained in Pfaff, Bernina and HQ16 long arm quilting machines and provides quality services to all makes and models.
The Charlton Sewing Center offers sewing classes for children and teens many times during the week. We also offer mother/daughter sewing classes and classes for home schoolers. Call to speak to a teacher and schedule your class today!
Check our website regularly for new classes, events and exhibits.
