1- Embroidery Set: Sewapalooza attendees will experience embroidery and be impressed with size of the jumbo hoop and it’s project possibilities. Any BERNINA embrodiery machine may be used for this set.

2- Software Seven Set: The monogram program of Software 7 will be featured in this set. The other new features of Software 7 will be shown in the Software 7 Sewapalooza booth. Any BERNINA embroidery machine may be used for this set.

3- DesignWorks Set: The DesignWorks Set will feature a BERNINA Exclusive Design Collection and the DesignWorks tools. The project will show the advantages of having a machine where the free arm can be used. 7 Series or 8 Series machines can be used in this set.

4- Quilting Set: The BERNINA Stitch Regulator, dual feed and the walking foot will be the focus of this set. Fans will learn machine quilting tips and tricks while making the quick project. 5 Series, 7 Series or 8 Series machines can be used in this set.

5- Accessories Set: Fans will learn about BERNINA’s quality presser feet and why our feet are superior. They will see how BERNINA presser feet will help give their finished projects a very professional finish.

Meet the Guest Instructor- Betsy Carlson!

Betsy remembers looking at her mother's sewing machine as a child and asking to learn how to use it, but her mother said, "You'll learn in Junior High." Well that first project was a zippered turtle pillow for pajamas, and Betsy never looked back. In high school, a local store called looking for someone who sewed, and Betsy was lucky enough to be recommended for the job, giving her an opportunity to start earning money with her sewing, working in alterations. Her education led her to a career in Public Relations, but sewing was always part of her life. When Betsy decided to stay home with her two children, Nine Patch Sewing Company was born. Betsy has trained with Pati Palmer on pattern fitting and created custom garments, sewn window treatments, pillows and slipcovers, created heirloom garments, and recently retired as president of the West Michigan Quilter's Guild. When just the right fabric is needed, she jumps in the bucket and dyes the fabric for her creations. Betsy has been the BERNINA educator at the local BERNINA dealer for five years, and loves bringing in new BERNINA owners and showing new tricks to longtime owners. She has been leading owners classes, a foot class, embroidery club and software training for the store sharing the fun of owning accessories for your machine. She has been a proud BERNINA owner for 20+ years. A great thrill is seeing the new surge in crafting among young adults. When not sewing, Betsy might be found using her other power tools, the tile saw and chop saw she uses in remodeling her home with her husband.
